Prof Prasad Kaparaju

Professor Kaparaju has over 22 years of experience in environmental engineering and waste management with special emphasis on biomass-to-biofuel conversion technologies, biomass pre-treatments and renewable energy. He was the chief investigator for the research projects funded by CRC RACE for 2030 , Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA), Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, Australian Government and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Government of Australia. Dr Kaparaju is the first researcher to demonstrate biogas production and upgrading the biogas to bio-CNG for vehicle fuel use in Australia. He was one of the first established researchers to initiate research on integrated biorefinery from lignocellulose biomass such as wheat straw, which was subsequently found applications for similar biorefinery concepts e.g. waste biorefinery and other lignocellulose biomass.
